Hi all,
Today i woke up very early, because it was time to visit the fish market Tsukiji. Woke up at 4 o'clock in the morning. There is no subway this early in the morning, so took the taxi to Tsukiji market. Arrived at quarter before 5, but at the other way of the market. A friendly man came to us and gave us a ride on his typical fish market "car":
We made it, but they only let 120 people in, but there were already 120 people waiting so we couldn't get in :(. It was kinda hard, but who can get angry at the Japanese ;)...
So we went to see several places on the fish market:
We met this guy from Canada, and he asked us where the auction is, we told him our experience but we discussed the fact that you could eat very good sushi in the morning at a place called sushi-dai, It is one of the best sushi bars in the region, we went there and saw the following:
Line 1, here are the people waiting which can go in soon
Line 2, here are the people waiting which have to wait for the people of line 1 ;)
After waiting 2 hours, we where almost next.
After 2.5 hours we could finally enter and start the sushi, which was very very very good.
My favorite fatty tuna sushi, it melted on my tongue :)
Sushi-dai on the Tsukiji fish market, i would advise everyone to go there.
Next stop was the Tokyo sky tree, which was just finished this year, it is huge, 623 meters
The view from the observatory decks
You can even see Mount fuji ;D, it was a beautiful day
After Tokyo we wen to Usuki Daibatsu, it is a small town near Tokyo
Close by is one of the biggest statues in the world, 123 meters high and after a bus ride of one hour there it was.
Close to the hotel a vending machine, you can find one on almost every corner, they should introduce it in the Netherlands :)
Cheers
